By taking two run-of-the-mill mixed bouquets from the grocery store along with a little fresh produce and a few empty wine and beer bottles you can have a lovely grouping for your centerpiece. The key, according to David Stark (event planner extraordinaire) is to separate the flowers by type. The smaller mixed bouquet is achieved by taking all of the greenery from the two arrangements and putting it into a vase...add a few pops of color with a few fruits and flowers and voila...you have a beautiful centerpiece and it only took a few seconds.
Here, the glass bottles were painted with flat latex paints in a few citrus colors. This gives a great unified look, but the plain glass bottles are pretty, too.
